Kintail Media’s Pathway

Founded in 2020 during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kintail Media was originally known as Deep Blue Adventures. Living on the beautiful Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, was a true blessing during the lockdowns. With most of my close friends living within a 5km radius and the Queensland government allowing residents to exercise within this distance, we made the most of the opportunity. Armed with GoPros, we spent our days surfing, free diving, and spearfishing, all while sharing our passion for the ocean through Deep Blue Adventures.

I’ve always had a passion for surfing, snowboarding, and other adrenaline sports. With some of my friends being sponsored in these sports, viewers naturally gravitated towards watching them, which led me to take on the role of the filmer. As my videos started to gain traction, I upgraded my equipment and expanded my focus to reach a broader audience. I began capturing a wide variety of content and as the content evolved, the name Deep Blue Adventures no longer reflected the diverse range of sports being showcased, as many people still associated it with ocean-related activities.

Kintail is the region in Scotland where my family name ‘Mackenzie’ originates from, and I wanted my brand/business to have sentimental meaning while also giving me the opportunity to continually expand and improve. And since this rebrand i have continuously expanded my knowledge and improved my skills, taking me around the world and meeting so many amazing and like minded individuals.
